Temperatures are soaring in the UK, and we're determined to make the most of it. (whilst it lasts!)
Sunny walks along the Cornish coast, wild swimming in the crystal clear sea, and refreshing dips in breathtaking natural pools have become habitual daily routines amongst the Jo & Co team, but our favourite hot weather activity? It's got to be alfresco dining.
Coming from the Italian "al fresco", meaning "in the fresh air", the adjective is routinely used to describe an outdoor dining experience. This could be a beach BBQ, picnic in the park, enjoying your morning coffee and croissant in the garden, or, if you're like us, an excuse to get all your friends and family together, and put together an all-out banquet in the evening sun.
- Setting The Mood -
Taking your al fresco dining experience to the next level is all about atmosphere. We love a bohemian inspired set-up for our summer dining. Think warm-white festoon lights strung from the trees, candles and lanterns dotted around the garden - twinkling in the evening light, and rugs or blankets dressed with mountains of cushions, for an irresistibly informal and relaxed environment.
- Serving-Up In Style -
We're not about paper plates and disposable cutlery here at Jo & Co. Dining is as much about the visual experience as it is the taste, so if you're going to do it, then do it right. Our vast collection of serveware, platters, boards and accessories will compliment your culinary masterpieces with the elevated presentation they deserve.
- Inspired Feasting -
Set your occasion apart from the summer norm, with an array of dishes that are perfectly suited to informal, al fresco dining. Outdoor dining shouldn't automatically mean the same old offering of burgers and hot dogs (although they always have their place!)
We love sharing platters and boards, Mezze dishes, fresh summer salads, pitchers of cocktails and baskets of fresh bread with balsamic and olive oil for dipping. Anything that can be prepared in advance and picked at throughout the evening - so you can focus on the important things, like enjoying good food and catching up with friends.
Here's a little offering from the extensive Jo & Co cookbook library, to help get those creative ideas flowing.
